From now until March 24, Sassy Sewing, in the town’s Market Place, is asking people to help make a Red Nose Day-themed quilt.

They will have red squares in the shop for people to pick up, take home and embellish however they wish.

“We want people to interpret Red Nose day in their own way,” said shop owner Julie Brown.

Once collected, the squares will be joined together to make a unique quilt which will be raffled for the charity on the shop’s birthday in October.

To add a social angle to the fund raiser, and also cater for beginners, next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they will offer up space, a sewing machine and expert advice in the shop to work on a square, with cake too.
