A parish councillor in Woodhall Spa is under fire - because of the number of meetings he’s missed.
Coun Mike Armstrong was absent from the monthly meeting of the parish council in July.
Fellow councillor Graham Keegan questioned Coun Armstrong’s attendance record and questioned how he could represented the community “when he was never there.”
Mr Keegan was told Coun Armstrong worked away a lot but always attended full council and committee meetings when he was at home.
Councillors resolved that clerk Amanda Bushell would speak to Coun Armstrong to find out if he knew how many more meetings he would miss because of work commitments.
Meanwhile, councillors were told a controversial application for housing on the ‘Rally Field’ site could be included on the agenda for the August meeting of East Lindsey District Council’s planning committee.
Apparently, a decision on the application could be made by a planning officer, but if the proposal is ‘called in’ it will go before the full planning committee.
There has been widespread opposition and protests from residents to the scheme.
