Troubled Bardney Parish Council is in the spotlight again after confirmation one of its councillors is the subject of an investigation.
West Lindsey District Council has confirmed it is investigating the ‘unnamed’ councillor after receiving a complaint, believed to be from a member of the public.
Julie Heath, Senior Communications Officer at West Lindsey District Council, said: “West Lindsey District Council can confirm we have received a complaint relating to a member of Bardney Parish Council.
“The matter is being investigated in line with our procedures.”
In a separate development, a former councillor and Bardney resident Mike Rogers has written to local MP Sir Edward Leigh outlining several concerns about the council.
Mr Rogers says Sir Edward has promised to look into several of the issues raised in the letter - providing he is re-elected MP on May 7.
Mr Rogers did not go into any details about the content of his letter, but he has previously raised a number of issues.
The News contacted Parish Council chairman Coun Charles Shaw for a comment but he had not replied before yesterday’s deadline.
The council is under-fire from some residents after imposing in inflation busting 24.8 per cent increase in its share of council tax bills.
