It will have to be back to the drawing board on a proposal for a bungalow and attached single garage to be built on land off Goulceby Lane in Goulceby because East Lindsey councillors dislike the proposed design.
“It’s awful,” Coun Jill Makinson-Sanders told a meeting of the planning committee. “We deserve a better quality of design in an area of outstanding natural beauty.”
Agreed Coun Jim Swanson: “I’d be a lot happier if we could get a better building.”
A different perspective came from chairman Coun Neil Cooper. “It’s all subjective - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
The application, submitted by Mr P. Fifth, was deferred to a later date pending further discussions between architect Dieter Nelson and planning officers.
