This year’s Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum’s annual memorial lecture is about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
The illustrated lecture will be given by David Barton, a volunteer with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Photographic Project.
It is a particularly fitting subject as this year marks the centenary of the start of the First World War - the ‘War To End All Wars’.
Hundreds of thousands of British servicemen lost their lives.
The original aim of The War Graves Photographic Project was to photograph every war grave, individual memorial, Ministry of Defence grave and family memorial of serving military personnel from WWI to the present day.
The service has only been made possible through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers.
The lecture will be held this year at The Golf Hotel in The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, on Saturday November 8 (2.30pm)
Tickets cost £7.50 and are available from Roger Webb on (01526 353029) or on the door.
