A leading East Lindsey District councillor has urged Lincolnshire County Council to take urgent action to repair Witham Road in Woodhall Spa.
Coun Craig Leyland, deputy leader of ELDC and a ward councillor in Woodhall, said he had received complaints from residents about the condition of several roads in the village, notably Witham Road and Woodland Drive.
With regard to Witham Road, Coun Leyland said: “Repairs are now overdue. We are talking about significant work, not just patching.
“The County Council really need to get on with it. It is urgent.
“It is a major route into the village.”
Coun Leyland was speaking at a meeting of the parish council.
Several councillors supported his call.
However, Coun Roger Webb said he doubted whether funding was available this year to complete the work.
He added the County Council had indicated funds could in place for 2015.
Coun Leyland said he would contact the relevant Highways Officer at County Hall to check on the funding situation and ensure the repairs were carried out as soon as possible.
