Plans for a new clubhouse at the Jubilee Park Bowling Club in Woodhall Spa have been backed by parish councillors - despite concerns raised by nearby residents.

Residents living in Maple Grove attended a recent parish council meeting and said that while they were not against the clubhouse in principle, they were worried about the views of it from their properties.

They asked for the rear of the building to be screened.

Members of the Bowling Club also attended the meeting and outlined their plans.

They produced a letter of support from Jubilee Park Woodhall Spa and councillors were told screening of the new building would be carried out.

Club members answered questions from councillors who agreed to support the application - on the condition that screening is included.

The new timber clubhouse - with an integral games kiosk - will replace the existing building which will be demolished.

A final decision will be made by planners at East Lindsey District Council.
