A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of June Humberstone, who sadly passed away on March 16 at Lincoln County Hospital, was held at All Saints Church in Wragby.

The Rev Mark Holden officiated at the service, which was followed by burial at Langton By Wragby.

June, aged 73, was born at Brant Broughton to parents Tom and Ivy Williams.

The family moved to Croft and, along with her sister and brothers, they enjoyed playing in the local countryside.

June attended Croft school then Burgh junior school, before the family moved to Walks Farm at Langton By Wragby, which proved to be a very special place for June.

From the age of 11 to 15, she attended school in Horncastle travelling there and back by bus each day. Finishing her education, she began work for the Co-op, delivering groceries.

It was during that time she met Ralph and, following the courtship, the couple married on March 26, 1960 and they enjoyed almost 54 years together.

Over the years, June and Ralph had two daughters Pauline and Carol and the family had so many happy times and holidays at Sutton on Sea, Whitby and Norfolk.

June took employment at “Hillards” and then as supervisor at the former Wragby Plastics, also adding on as a cleaner at the local Doctor’s surgery.

She was always a very caring person, which led her into becoming a home-help providing so much support to people, always being reliable and appreciated.

Family was so important to June and her caring nature shone through loving visits from her grandchildren and looking after them in the holidays.

Nothing was too much trouble.

Latterly she became carer for her husband Ralph when his health gave concerns and the couple enjoyed the help and support from the Wragby Branch of Disability Lincs meetings, both taking part in the outings, day trips and lunches the group organised.
