The funeral of Albert Cecil Thornalley took place at Alford Crematorium on February 28, followed by a memorial service at St Peter’s Church in Woodhall Spa. Mr Thornalley, 93, of The Alexandra, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa died on February 13 at Russell Green Care Home. He is survived by his wife Lucy, daughters Ann Thornalley and Susan Fletcher, grandchildren Annabelle Robinson and Matthew Robinson and great grandson Jack Robinson.

Born in East Kirkby, Mr Thornalley farmed at Dexthorpe near Spilsby and was a member of the auxiliary units of Lincolnshire’s secret army during the Second World War. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, bowls and snooker. Funeral arrangement were by Michael Sivill and Sally Smithson officiated.
