Woodhall Spa Jubilee weekend.

ORGANISERS of Woodhall Spa’s Jubilee Celebrations are expecting thousands of visitors over the Bank Holiday weekend.

They believe a three-day programme of events should appeal to locals and non-residents.

Emma Tatlow, chair of Woodhall’s Chamber of Trade and Tourism, said: “The village-wide celebrations will bring together the community of Woodhall and the surrounding villages.

“There are lots of things to do for the thousands of visitors expected to be holidaying in the area during the extended Bank Holiday weekend.”

The Chamber of Trade and Tourism has helped to organise the celebrations along with the Spa Cottage Museum, The Mall public house, the Petwood Hotel and Jubilee Park - with support from the local Parish Council.

The major attraction on Saturday will be a bumper street market, which will promote the best of local produce.

Jackie Goodall, chairman of the Spa Cottage Museum, said: “We’re really looking forward to the market.

“It’s a great opportunity to celebrate Lincolnshire produce and all things local.”

On Sunday morning, there will be a major triathlon meeting in Jubilee Park while the spotlight will then be on Station Road for a traditional street party lunch.

It has been organised by The Mall pub.

Landlord Stef Dutchyn said: “We’re delighted to be involved.

“There is a thriving community spirit here among the residents, volunteers and businesses and we see this as a great way to bring everyone together.”

There will be live music and other entertainment.

On Sunday, a ‘Picnic in the Park’ will be staged in Jubilee Park with champagne and strawberries provided by the Petwood Hotel.

Emma Brealey, a director at the hotel, said: “There is so much happening during the weekend and we’re sure everyone will be out and about to enjoy Woodhall Spa.”
