Parish councillors in Woodhall Spa have agreed to support plans for a renewable energy plant at a local farm.
The application is for a silage clamp, an anaerobic digester, a process building, a gas holder and a digestate lagoon at land adjacent to Abbey Lodge, in Tattershall Road.
Applicant Will Nelstop spoke about his plans at the July parish council meeting.
He produced a plan of the proposed site and discussed the dimensions of the plant, the impact on local resident and traffic movements.
He stressed there would be no food waste entering the site and as a result, there should be no offensive smells.
Coun Roger Webb said members of the planning committee had already met Mr Nelstrop who had answered their concerns and questions.
Councillors voted unanimously to support the application, although a final decision will be made by planners at East Lindsey District Council.
In a report submitted to ELDC, Environmental Health officials note the nearest houses are some distance from the site, but have suggested an ‘odour management plan’ should be considered.
