Like most women, Leah Kendle’s hair is definitely her pride and joy - but all that could be about to change on Saturday, March 1.

That’s the date Leah will be allowing her cherished locks to be shorn in a bid to raise money for a cancer charity.

Leah and husband Dan, live in Woodhall Spa. Dan is a greenkeeper at the prestigious Woodhall Spa Golf Club.

However, it’s Leah who will be the centre of attention on March 1.

Leah’s father in law, Philip, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma last September.

Unfortunately, treatment did not work and he passed away in December.

Leah says: “It was a complete shock to all our family.”

As a result, Leah decided to raise money for the Big C Centre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital which is where her father-in -law was treated.

The outcome of much planning is the fund-raising day at St Peter’s Church Hall in Woodhall Spa from 10am to 1pm.

People can donate £2 to chop off a ‘chunk’ of Leah’s hair. Any remaining hair will be completely shaved off at 12 noon.

Already, the sponsorship has started to flow in and Leah and Ben have said a big thank you to everyone who has contributed.

However, the couple are hoping for a bumper turn out on March 1.

The day will feature a variety of stalls offering a wide range of produce and goods.

There will also be face painting for children, a tombola and a luxury raffle.

Refreshments will also be available.
