Village in the market for park

FARMERS markets and craft fairs are being held in Wragby to raise money for a play park makeover.

The free markets at the town hall in Louth Road will be held every month – September 2, October 14 and November 4 – from 10am.

Resident Viv Moss said the fundraising is for a “much needed refurbishment and rejuvenation” of the village play park.

She described the parks as “an invaluable community resource providing outdoor play for children of all ages in the village and surrounding areas”.

The markets have been running since March and have so far raised £1,080 - the target is to raise £2,000.

Each market has more than 20 stalls with a huge variety of products from locally produced meats, cheese, preserves, sweets, cakes and special diet bakes to lovingly handcrafted home wares, children’s toys, jewellery, beauty items and candles.

Viv said: “The fundraising target for the play park is high, this is an invaluable source of funding and an opportunity for the community to be involved.”

Residents are also working with Groundwork Lincolnshire – a charity aimed at building better neighbourhoods – to secure additional funding.
