UPDATE: Man charged with the murder of young woman in Skegness

A man has been charged with murder after the body of Leonuta Ioana Haidemac was found in Skegness on Friday, July 22.

Casey Scott (29), of Drummond Road, Skegness, was charged with murder this afternoon, Tuesday July 26. He will appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday July 27.

Leonuta, 28, was found at an address in Drummond Road where she had last been seen at 10pm on Wednesday night.

Although a man has been charged, detectives would still like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Drummond Road on the evening of Wednesday 20th July and who may have witnessed any activity they believe could be relevant. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 101 of 21 July.

Paying tribute to Leonuta, Mayor of Skegness Coun Dick Edginton said: “I think it’s horrific. We’re not used to this type of thing in Skegness.

“I’m horrified to think that someone has lost their life under these sorts of circumstances.

“Everyones thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim.”
