Talks ‘progressing well’ over Park deal
Talks aimed at securing the future ownership of Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa are progressing well..
The park is currently owned by Woodhall Spa Parish Council.
However, they are keen to hand over the facility to a charitable organisation or trust.
Talks have been on-going with the Friends of Jubilee Park for several weeks.
Councillor Webb told a meeting of the council last week that the two parties were making progress although a n agreement is not thought to be imminent.
Coun Webb said: “We are drawing closer together and I think there is a clear understanding of exactly where both sides stand on various issues.”
The parish council took over ownership of the park from East Lindsey District Council .
However, councillors admit they lack the time and resources to run the facility on a profitable basis.
The terms of any lease with FoJP has been a sticking point, but council chairman David Clarke is keen to conclude a deal as soon as possible.
