Special offer for budding market traders in East Lindsey

'˜Love Your Local Markets Fortnight' takes place between May 17 and May 31, and East Lindsey District Council wants to hear from people who are keen to run their own market stall and have an idea of what they'd like to sell.

Up to six budding entrepreneurs will be given the chance to trade on the markets at Spilsby, Horncastle and Louth, with free Public Liability Insurance for 10 market days, and 10 market days rent for the price of eight to help them get started.

Markets Manager, Esther Belton, said; “If you have a business idea that you would like to trial, a market stall is a fantastic way to test the water and see if people like your products for a relatively small start-up cost.

“Whatever you want to sell, whether it be food, handmade items or something totally new and innovative, our markets are a great way to meet potential customers and receive some great feedback to help in shaping your business.

“Over the years we have seen numerous market traders progress to their own shop premises after a successful start trading on markets.”

Joanne Frier of Magpie5Glitz took advantage of the offer last year and has become a regular trader on the markets.

Joanne said: “I took up the opportunity of the Markets offer in 2015 to extend the reach of my business to more customers, selling silver and costume jewellery.

“The Market stall has helped increase my customer base and I am now selling more jewellery as a result.

“I would encourage other solo traders to take up this offer to see what it can do for you.”
