Sophie to take on scissors in bid to raise charity cash

A girl from Martin is ready to take on a set of hairclippers in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Sophie Webster has made the decision to shave her hair to raise money in memory of her grandfather who passed away two years ago as a result of skin cancer.

Sophie, 20, said: “It’s going to grow back eventually.

“I don’t have a problem doing it because a lot of people with cancer go through losing their hair.”

On her Justgiving page, Sophie has added that she is raising money to “help the great work that Cancer Research do.”

“I’m hoping to raise £500 at the end of it,” she said.

“I’ve got £144 in donations on my Justgiving page so far, and I’ve got some sponsor forms going round too.

“I’m going to have my hair shaved in April.”
