Big hearted slimmers from Horncastle are certainly doing their bit to help the town’s Community Larder.
Members of Slimming World are taking part in a sponsored slim - and collecting non perishable goods - for the larder.
The venture involves members of both Horncastle’s Slimming World Groups.
It is part of a national initiative “Slim For Good” which aims to help people lose weight and raise money for worthy causes.
The slimmers in the Horncastle groups voted for the larder as their charity.
Karen Hamilton, who runs the groups, said: “We felt everyone could get involved by collecting food products and doing the sponsored slim.
“There have been times in most of our lives when something like this (the Community Larder) would have been useful so to give something back will be amazing.
“The weight loss will literally become the Community Larder’s gain.”
The Slimming World groups are inviting other people to join their fundraising efforts.
Karen added: “If you’ve struggled with your weight for a long time then making that decision to take control and slim down can be a big one.
“Hopefully, knowing that every pound you lose will go towards helping the community Larder will be a great incentive.”
A spokesman for the Community Larder - which is based at the town’s Community Centre - said: “We are thrilled the Horncastle Slimming World groups want to help us.
“The donations will go towards providing those families in need the food parcels that they require.
“We rely on donations. “
