Members of Horncastle and Woodhall Spa Round Table have handed over £700 to local charities.

The cash was raised in a successful Father Christmas Float Run.

Members spent last summer transforming a rickshaw into a festive sleigh.

They travelled the streets of Woodhall Spa and Horncastle, visiting families and collecting funds for charity.

Local organisations taking part included Friends of Jubilee Park, Horncastle Scouts, the Ladies Circle (on behalf of Rainbow’s Hospital), Woodhall Spa Guides and Horncastle ATC.

Ailson Whiting, from the Ladies Circle, said: “It was such a fun way to raise some funds for our nominated charity and everyone was in a festive spirit.”

The sleigh has been put away in storage until later this year.

Round Table spokesman Peter Lee said: “We would love to be able to go out on more evenings and reach more people in the community although this will depend on how many groups come forward to support us.”

The Round Table will be heavily involved in the 2013 Woodhall Spa 10K run. It will be held on Sunday June 2.

More information is available from www.woodhallspa10K.org.

The Round Table is always happy to welcome new members and anyone interested in more information about the organisation should go to http://www.woodhallspaandhorncastle.roundtable.co.uk/contact.

Meetings are held every couple of months.
