Ringing out at Wragby for Jutland centenary

A quarter peal was rung in All Saints Church Wragby last night (Tuesday, May 31) in memory of two local men who lost their lives at the Battle of Jutland, 100 years.

Able seaman Bertram Chapman RN and Col Sgt William Howard RMLI were killed onboard HMS Queen Mary.

A total of 1266 ring changes were rung to represent the total number of personnel killed during the battle by Norma Bird, Colin Ward, whose great-uncle was Bert Chapman, Bill Booty, Claire Howard, whose great-grandfather was William Howard, Jonathon Clark and Sue Waterfall.
