An application for a new place of worship by Jehovah’s Witnesses is to be discussed by members of Horncastle Town Council’s planning and Development Committee.

The application is on the agenda for a meeting next Tuesday and relates to a site opposite White House Farm, Boston Road, Horncastle.

The applicants are the Horncastle Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

They are seeking permission to erect a building to be used as a place of worship, along with construction of vehicular access and a car park.

There are plans to use land at the site for a relaxation and meditation area and an overflow car park.

Other applications on the agenda include new signs at the Ship inn, Horncastle.

Paul Riddel Skip Hire Ltd is seeking permission for a new portable cabin to provide additional offices and staff facilities at Hemingby Lane.

Committee members are also due to discuss two major applications for new homes in the town - Mareham Road and Langton Hill.

ELDC’s planning committee adjourned a decision about the Mareham Road amid flooding issues project while an officer rejected the Langton Hill application.
