Woodhall Spa’s Petwood Hotel enjoyed a home victory last weekend as they were named Best Hotel in the Lincolnshire Food & Drink awards which were presented in the building.

The Hotel was the venue for the 2014 county-wide awards ceremony and the Petwood beat competition from The Lincoln Hotel, Lincoln and The Olde Barn Hotel, Grantham.

Hotel Director Emma Brealey said: “We were really honoured to have been asked to host the awards, but to win it was fantastic.

“It got to about 6pm on the night and I was thinking to myself ‘I really want us to win this’.

“The award did come as a surprised, we are really humbled by it. It’s a massive privilege.

“It means a lot to us because it is the current group of staff members who were assessed last year and this is thanks to their hard work.”

It is hoped that 2014 will be a big year for the hotel and it is hoped that the garden restoration project will take place to restore the grounds of the Petwood to their former glory.
