Horncastle Town Council co-opted its newest member at its meeting last week as Rose Williams joined the council.
Having lived and worked locally for over 30 years Rose is an active member in the local community.
She was a founder member of Transition Town Horncastle and is also a member of the Wong Working Group and the Horncastle Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Town Mayor Councillor Fiona Martin said: “Rose is committed to supporting the local community and will be a real asset to the Town Council.”
After being co-opted Coun Williams said: “I am very pleased and proud to join Horncastle Town Council and I am looking forward to working with my fellow councillors for the benefit of the town.”
Coun Williams previously stood as a candidate for a seat on the council 2012 but was defeated by rival candidate Coun Tom Mumford by just 21 votes.
Coun Williams has filled one of three vacancies currently on Horncastle Town Council.
Two seats were vacated after the deaths of Ann Wayne and Steve Newton, and the third seat by the resignation earlier this year of local businessman Richard Barker.
