New concern raised over East Lindsey’s Compass Point set–up
FRESH concern has been sounded over Compass Point Business Services - the organisation jointly set up by East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council to run back-office services.
It was hoped other councils would be persuaded to sign up, but so far none have, despite a £600,000 marketing campaign by the two Lincolnshire-based authorities.
Querying the lack of progress, Coun Jeremy Webb, a former director of CPBS, said: “Would shareholders in any other organisation tolerate such a poor performance?
“I think not.”
Disappointment was also expressed by Labour leader Coun Tony Howard who said CPBS had “failed to lay the golden egg”.
However CPBS director, Coun Victoria Ayling, urged councillors to be patient.
“It will take a while,” she added.
