Together with their two young sons - who attend Scamblesby Primary School - they love the Wolds and are determined to make a success of their exciting new venture.

Apart from selling sports equipment and clothing, they offer a range of services - including personal diet plans.

Chris ran his own business in the Bradford area while Joanne worked in administration.

Chris explained: “Running our own sports and fitness business is something we’ve always wanted to do.

“We moved down here about a year ago and love the area.

“This opportunity came up and we’ve gone for it. We’re very excited and we’ve already been pretty busy.

“People from in and around Horncastle are really friendly. There’s no other business like ours for miles around so hopefully we’ll do well.”

The couple are members of two Horncastle gyms and Chris is working towards a diploma in nutrition and weight management.

They are keen to forge strong links with the many sporting clubs in the area.

Their shop is well-stocked with health supplements and they are happy to cater for requests for a particular item of equipment or clothing.

They are also working hard to develop a website to cater for on-line shopping and general enquiries.
