Mareham Road scheme has not been shelved stresses council
East Lindsey District Council has stepped in smartly to quash claims that plans for a major housing development in Horncastle had been shelved.
Residents contacted the News suggesting a scheme for more than 100 new homes off Mareham Road had been rejected.
ELDC have stressed that is not the case and pointed out the application had been ‘invalidated’ because of administrative issues.
A spokesman said: “The administrative issues are merely that certain documents that were submitted contradicted each other.
“Invalidated doesn’t mean that the application has been thrown out, It just means the process stops until whatever made the application invalid is resolved.
“In this case, amended paperwork needs to be resubmitted.”
