Louth Town Hall is auctioning a genuine Big Country gold disc for charity, ahead of the band’s gig at the town hall on April 26.
The disc was awarded to Big Country for their 1990 release ‘Through A Big Country: The Greatest Hits’ compilation album.
It has kindly been donated to Louth Town Hall and all proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Bidding is now underway, and will end on Monday April 21.
Bidding is done by email, with all bids kept secret. Bids can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, providing your name, address and your bid. There is a £250 reserve price, and the winner must be able to make it to Louth on the April 26 to collect it.
Louth Town Hall CEO, Andy Howlett, said: “It’s not often you see a Gold Disc, let alone have a chance to buy one.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any Big Country fan to get a piece of rock history, and it all goes to help our efforts to support the Alzheimer’s Society.”
Gig organiser Andrew Skinner added: “This is a great opportunity to own a piece of rock memorabilia, and help support a great cause at the same time.”
Further details are available from the Louth Town Hall website at www.louthtownhall.co.uk, which will also include the latest information about the number of bids and the current leader.
