Crowds turned out in force over the Bank Holiday for the always popular Knights and Princesses Day at Tattershall Castle.
Excellent weather boosted the attendance figures with many of the children who took part arriving in fancy dress.
Picnics on the lawn proved very popular and there were a host of activities for the children to enjoy.
The face painter and balloon modeller were kept busy all day and used their skills to ensure visitors could look like a dragon, wield a balloon sword...or parade around with a balloon crown and floral design on their cheek.
There was also the opportunity for children to follow a fun trail around the property spotting the servants and trying on the Lords’ and Ladies’ costumes on show.
Youngsters had the chance to get creative with some special craft activities.
‘Lady Maude’ and peasant ‘Truepenny’ were also in attendance.
Visitors could try their hand at spinning wool on Lady Maude’s traditional spinning wheel and enjoy playing with some medieval toys.
The next event at the castle is ‘Archaeology Uncovered’ on May 26. For further details, contact the castle on 01526 352543.
