Horncastle Town Council is set to allow ‘live’ filming and recording of future meetings following a change in Government guidelines.
The News understands the council will change its standing orders at next month’s meeting to allow filming and recording to take place.
The decision will follow on from Woodhall Spa Parish Council, which altered its standing orders at a meeting last month.
Apart from filming and recording the actual content of meetings, it is understood the new regulations will also allow live blogging.
It has been possible to ‘tweet’ from meetings for several months.
There are concerns the new regulations will mean some council’s will vote to move into private sessions to discuss controversial issues.
