Nine staff members from Horncastle’s Swimming Pool and Lifestyle Fitness Suite raised £1,000 for charity after taking on the Three Peaks.
The staff members took on the highest mountains in mainland Great Britain to raise money for Children In Need.
Manager Christine Malpas was joined by Mark Dilks, Karen Mortimer, Tom Curcio, Kirsty Harness, Andrew Dunbar, Chris Pole, Sarah Turner and Luke Jacklin.
To complete the Three Peaks Challenge the group had to scale Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon and Scafel Pike in 24 hours.
They started the first part of their challenge at 8pm when they climbed Scotland’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis (4,409ft) in the dark.
Christine said: “The climb went well, but what surprised us the most was the change in weather from the bottom to the top of the mountain, something none of us was expecting.
“When we started the climb, the weather was mild with drizzling rain but by the time we had reached the top it was gale force winds and snow.”
The group descended and reached their mini bus at 1.30am.
They only had a few hours sleep before ascending Scafel Pike (3,209ft) in the Lake District.
After starting their climb at 8am in the wind, rain and mist they completed their ascent and by 2.30pm were heading to Wales to take on Mount Snowdon (3,560ft).
Starting at 7.30pm and again climbing through the night, they finished at 12.30am, ready to head back to Horncastle after walking and climbing approximately 27 miles.
Christine added: “We were tired, cold and hungry most of the time, however we still had a really good time.
“The experience was amazing and the team got on really well, with all staff supporting and encouraging other.”
Four years ago staff from the East Lindsey District Council-run pool and gym took part in a bungee jump, three years ago they organised a five a side football tournament and last year cycled the distance of John O’Groats to Land’s End on exercise bikes at the gym - each year trying to better themselves.
Although the team has already reached the £1,000 mark they will continue to raise money until November.
