Horncastle make Best Kept final
HORNCASTLE is one of three finalists in the Lincolnshire Best Small Market Towns competition.
Horncastle takes on Caistor, which has won the category for the last three years, and newcomer Crowland.
Woodhall Spa will also be defending their crown in the Class 3 Best Kept Village Award.
Last year’s winners will be taking on Langtoft, who have never won before, and Nettleham who are eleven times winners of the award.
Judging for the final rounds take place in September, and Woodhall successfully beat off over 120 entrants for their place in the final.
Horncastle and Woodhall will also be judged in a category to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the competition.
Sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses’ Real-Life Entrepreneurs project, finalists will be rewarded for gaining the involvement of shops in supporting the competition.
The winning community will receive £200 to spend on floral displays.
Competition organiser Teresa Palmer said: “I wish all the finalists the very best of luck in September and look forward to seeing the results in early October.”
