Hemingby kickboxer Jamie Key sobbed uncontrollably in the dock as he was ordered to stay in custody until his trial on assault charges against his former partner.
Key, 25, of Main Road, appearing in custody at Skegness Magistrates’ Court, admitted breaching the bail conditions previously set as he faced four assault charges against Rebecca Worsley over several months.
Paul Wood, prosecuting, said that two of the assault charges had now been amended to the more serious ones of assault and causing actual bodily harm.
No pleas were entered.
It was said that Key had been in breach of his bail conditions by contacting Ms Worsley on numerous occasions via text messages and the internet.
Mr Wood, for the prosecution service, opposed bail but Andrea Wilkes, for Key, said that he had been responding to Ms Worsley’s messages to him.
She asked District Judge John Stobart to allow Key bail to his mother’s address but the judge refused.
It is expected the allegations will eventually be heard at Lincoln Crown Court.
