Examples of environmental excellence are being sought for this year’s Lincolnshire Environmental Awards.

Organised by Lindum Rotary Club and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, there are four awards up for grabs: Anglian Water Business Award, Centrica Energy Community Award, Toyota Lincoln Farm / Rural Enterprise Award and FCC Young Environmentalist Award.

Last year saw The Eco-Friendlies from Lincolnshire Montessori in Caistor win the Lincolnshire Young Environmentalist Award.

The five children of the group set out an Action Plan addressing a wide range of environmental issues, from encouraging energy saving and recycling to installing composters to use kitchen waste on their allotment and signing the school up to SelectLincolnshire to encourage the purchase of locally sourced produce for the school kitchen.

To enter this year’s awards, write a 200 to 300-word description of your project and send it to Lincolnshire Environmental Awards, c/o Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Banovallum House, Manor House Street, Horncastle LN9 5HF

The closing date for entries is Wednesday 30 April 2014, following which a judging panel will shortlist projects.

Entries can also be submitted online at www.lincsenvironmentalawards.org.uk
