An energy company will hold a public exhibition in Donington on Bain later this month as part an application for an oil drilling site at Biscathorpe.
Egdon Resources UK Limited will stage the event in the village hall on Wednesday May 21 from 1.30-7.30pm.
An earlier application by Egdon was withdrawn last year due to problems.
The proposed new site will not cross any waterways or involve ‘sensitive locations.’ It is also further away from popular footpaths, including the Viking Way.
There was strong opposition to the previous application with several concerns about the proposed access.
Egdon say they have addressed this by utilising the B1225 (Caistor High Road) which is already an approved HGV route.
The company also stress activities at the site will involve conventional drilling for oil and not hydraulic ‘fracking’ for shale gas.
Experts say that the Biscathorpe area does not have the specific rock-formation type that contain shale gas.
The exhibition is part of the pre-application consultation.
