Staff at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby have confirmed their ‘Three Lancasters Day’ has completely sold out.
The BBMF Lancaster ‘Thumper’ and its Canadian counterpart ‘Vera’ will be at the centre on Tuesday September 2.
They will team up with the centre’s own Lancaster ‘Just Jane.’
All 5,000 tickets for the event have sold out and none will be available on the gate.
There has, of course, been tremendous interest in the historic Second World bombers.
East Kirkby is the only venue where all three Lancasters will be seen together.
The BBMF and Canadian bombers will fly overhead while ‘Just Jane’ taxies along the runway.
A spokesman for the centre said: “This is a chance in a lifetime.
“At no other time since the 1950s have three Lancasters joined together as a spectacle to the general public.
“It is a rare occurrence to see the two Lancasters together. An event with all three is of epic proportions.”
Apart from the Lancasters, the day will include taxy runs, trade stalls and 1940s style entertainment featuring Lola Lamour.
The flypast by the two Lancasters is due to take place at 3pm - weather permitting.
