Digital business event at Horncastle College

A VETERAN of the UK gaming industry will be talking about game development at a digital business event in Horncastle next week as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of superfast broadband.

This month, the Lincolnshire Digital Business Cluster will stage four seminars aimed at digital businesses and the next event will take place at Horncastle College on Wednesday, July 18 from 6pm until 8pm.

The seminar will be led by Dave Sharp from Binary Asylum, who for the last 25 years has worked at the cutting edge of game development on more than 90 titles and more than 20 different hardware platforms.

Through his production company Binary Asylum, Mr Sharp currently has a number of games in development across the UK and is also involved with the training and educational aspects of the industry acting as an advisor to universities and colleges on games development courses.

The seminar is part of Online Revolution, a project funded by the East Midlands European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed via Lincolnshire County Council to raise awareness of the benefits of superfast broadband.

Angela Driver, Principal Development Officer for Online Revolution at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We’re really excited to be able to offer Lincolnshire businesses free advice and support and we hope lots of firms take up this offer.

“The event in Horncastle is a great chance for businesses to get involved and gain valuable insights from an expert in their field.”

Online Revolution aims to raise awareness of the potential of superfast broadband and stimulate demand for the service in the project’s three target areas: Lincoln, Boston and East Lindsey.
