“Deplorable vandals” have badly damaged a bench donated in memory of a young girl.
Police are appealing for information about the incident of criminal damage in Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa.
Shortly before midnight on Saturday 3 May, the offenders broke the middle section of an oak bench, which was worth several hundred pounds.
PCSO Nicola Stuchfield, from Woodhall Spa Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Whilst all acts of criminal damage are deplorable, this particular bench had been donated in the memory of a young girl who died and so the damage to it has cause considerable distress.
“I would appeal to anyone with information about who is responsible to contact me as soon as possible”.
Anyone with information should contact PCSO Stuchfield by dialling 101 and quoting the incident number. Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
