Horncastle Town Council has issued an appeal for volunteers who wish to get involved in the town’s Snow Plan for this winter.
Council Clerk Gillian Mauger said: “We need to find more volunteers to increase the availability of this service.”
Lincolnshire County Council took the time to praise volunteers and organisers for their help during the snow earlier this year as residents took time out to help clear pathways and spread grit in the town.
Councillor Bill Aron said: “It seemed a lot of the time that volunteers appeared and helped out on the day as they were needed.
“We have a lot of equipment ready to be used in case we need it.”
Couns Angela Birchall and David Rourk told fellow councillors that requests had been made by members of the public for grit bins in different areas of the town.
Council Chairman Fiona Martin said: “We would be very grateful if more people volunteered.
“Our volunteer did do an excellent job last year.”
