Cold weather set to continue - and more snow on the way

After two days of snow, the cold weather will continue to grip the county as freezing temperatures are expected for most ofthe week.

Today (Wednesday) temperatures are expected to drop as low as -7 degrees and the reports indicate they will struggle to rize above freezing as the week progresses.

Snow is also forecast again for Friday and Saturday and a week-long ‘amber’ ice warning has been issued by the Met Office.

Parts of the area wwere under as much as 10cm (four inches) of snow and there were a number of minor accidents.

Ice is expected to be a problem over the next few days.
