Charity branches out into spacious new HQ
LIVES
SPACIOUS new premises to help take a Horncastle based charity from strength to strength are up and running.
LIVES is now operated from more than 4,000 square feet of plush office space on Boston Road Industrial Estate.
For the past 10 years, Horncastle War Memorial Centre was home to the life-saving charity, but a rented building on Birch Court is now providing the scope and space needed for the ever expanding charity.
Office manager for LIVES, Paul Martin, said: “It’s a great opportunity to prepare for the future as we continue to expand.
“It’s an incredible achievement for us that we have been able to move to purpose built premises.
“It enables us to provide improved support for our volunteers in terms of better training facilities, administration and stock support.”
The building compromises a large reception, several administration offices, a staff kitchen and a dedicated training room.
Ample storage space is provided for oxygen masks and a whole range of lifesaving kit, constantly in demand by LIVES First Responders as they administer treatment to patients on the frontline.
The new premises also offer much needed space for the equipment used on the internal and external training courses run by LIVES.
With the call rate to LIVES up by 27 per cent this year, compared to the same time last year, it is vital that stocks are adequately stored and replenished.
“We’re seeing the best part of 1,500 calls a month, county wide,” said Steve Hyde, fundraising and marketing manager for LIVES. “We think we will hit 20,000 this year.”
The building will be officially opened later this year by LIVES patron Lady Jane Willoughby Eresby of Grimsthorpe Castle.
Steve added: “The move is very exciting but we still need support from the Lincolnshire public.”
