Police are appealing for witnesses after two car park ticket machines were targeted in Louth and Horncastle.

Shortly before 9pm on Thursday evening, there was an alarm activation on the machine in the Co-op car park in Northgate.

Police officers attended and found that the machine had been drilled, and the front fhad been forced off. Approximately 45 minutes later, a machine in the Tesco car park in Horncastle was similarly attacked.

East Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “The machines are emptied regularly but a small amount of cash was stolen.

“The machines alert us within 10 seconds if someone breaks in, so we were immediately able to inform Lincolnshire Police who are trying to find those responsible.”

Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident numbers 442 and 459 of 27 March 2014.

Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
