Busting a move for charity

HORNCASTLE Dance Club has made a generous step for charity by handing over a cheque for £1,400 to St Andrews Children’s Hospice.

The club chooses a charity each year to raise money for.

Proceeds from the monthly dance classes go towards the chosen cause, along with general donations and one-off events.

Pam Freeston, who organises the dances along with Steve Taylor and Gwen Lancaster, said: “We do the dances every month. We have had a couple of tea dances as well and also receive donations.

“We have been going for around 15 years and have raised a lot of money for local charities.”

Next year the club has chosen to fundraise for local Macmillan nurses.

Do you want to start dancing in the new year? Then you might wish to go along to one of the club’s meetings.

Members meet at Horncastle Community Centre every second Saturday of the month, 7.30pm-10.30pm.

Pam said: “Anybody can come along. Even if they can’t dance they will soon pick it up.”

For further information call Pam on 01507 533659.
