Police are hunting thieves who stole money from a car park machine in Horncastle last night (Thursday).

The machine, in the Bain Car Park (Tesco), is owned by East Lindsey District Council who say a ‘small amount’ of money was stolen.

ELDC’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “Two parking machines were broken into – one at the Bain Car Park (Tesco) in Horncastle and one at the Co-Op Car Park in Louth.

“The machines are emptied regularly but a small amount of cash was stolen.

“The machines alert us within 10 seconds if someone breaks in so we were immediately able to inform Lincolnshire Police who are trying to find those responsible.”

If anyone has any information they should contact Lincolnshire Police.
