Awards and steps forward at community hall annual meeting

THE annual general meeting for Coningsby Community Hall has been held.

Chairman Derek Cook reported on the refurbishment of the gentleman’s toilets which was financed with the help of a £5,500 donation from not–for–profit waste recycling organisation WREN.

The committee is very grateful for this award and also the support of Coningsby Town Council.

The gents’ have not been wholly refurbished since before 1978.

The popular hall is regularly used for meetings, weddings, parties, bingo sessions and jumble sales.

The bingo sessions held on Wednesday evenings are in aid of hall funds with eyes down at 7.30pm.

The runner up for the John Barker Appreciation Trophy is hall secretary Lorna Curtis who received a Certificate of Recognition of Outstanding Volunteer Services.

John Barker is a former chairman of the Village Halls Advisory Committee.
