Horncastle town councillor Sandra Campbell-Wardman was voted by her fellow council members as the new Chairman and Mayor of the town at last week’s meeting.
Immediately after being voted in Mrs Campbell-Wardman made a statement to the council and the Horncastle News.
“Although I live in Goulceby, which is five miles from the town, I have worked and lived here for 42 years.
“I’ve owned three businesses and supported school children on work experience, I’ve been part of the chamber of commerce, I could go on and on.
“Although I don’t live here, Horncastle is my main town which I support wholeheartedly and will continue to do so.
“I will give 100 per cent to this town as I always have done.”
Mrs Campbell Wardman also wished to thank her predecessor Councillor Fiona Martin for all her work during her time as chairman.
“I would like to express my thanks to Fiona for all the work she has done for the town as Chairman of the town council.”
Councillor Angela Birchall was voted by her fellow councillors to take on the Vice Chairman role, which was vacated after Mrs Campbell-Wardman was named Chairman.
The next meeting of Horncastle Town Council will take place at the Stanhope Hall on Tuesday June 10 at 7.30pm - there will be 15 minutes at the start of the meeting for members of the public to ask questions of the council.
