Letter: Concert did star the Swinging Blue Jeans, but it was new pair

EDITOR – Further to the letter published on July 7 from 'disappointed fans', the Woodhall Spa Rotary Club booked the Swinging Blue Jeans through an established agency – a formal contract was in place.

The group that arrived at East Kirkby introduced themselves as the Swinging Blue Jeans and the invoice for their performance came from the Swinging Blue Jeans.

On receiving a complaint, we investigated the matter.

This revealed that Ray Ennis, the founder of the Swinging Blue Jeans, had decided to retire at the end of May 2010, and he had given permission for the name to be used by the group that appeared at East Kirkby.

We are sorry some fans were disappointed.

However, the event was very successful, the floor was packed with dancers and we all had a brilliant time at our 14th Big Night Out.
