Good call on town CCTV councillors

EDITOR – Great news about the update for the CCTV cameras in and around the town.

It is important that our council try before they buy. Most CCTV cameras provide pictures of a quality where you would have trouble recognising yourself.

Television Crimewatch indicates the need for high quality pictures when you see a gang in a jewellers shop getting away because the camera picture is poor quality.

When a camera provides income, penalties for speeding, traffic light and box junction infringements, parking penalties and use of a bus lane, the camaera evidence is crystal clear because part of the income from the offences pays for the quality.

You would not buy a pair of shoes without first trying so why not CCTV cameras.
