The number six bus which runs between Horncastle and Skegness might well have a couple of new passengers over the coming months.
In fact, Jen Goodacre and Shaun Scowen pretty much know every inch of that journey.
The intrepid duo - who work at Horncastle’s One Store in the Bull Ring - walked all 21 miles to raise money for Children In Need.
They set off from Skegness just after 9am and arrived in Horncastle seven hours later.
Jen admitted that 48 hours later, she was still counting her blisters.
However, she said the trek was well worth it as the pair expect to raise around £600.
Jen said: “When it was first mentioned, a few of our colleagues said they were up for it.
“By the time we did it, there were only three of us left and the third walker couldn’t take part on the day.
“It was a long slog but enjoyable. I never knew there were so many hills between Skegness and Horncastle.
“Still, it was worth the effort.”
Jen admitted they were relived to see the town centre signs when they approached Horncastle.
She added: “Fortunately, it was pretty good weather.
“It had poured it down the day before so we were glad it stayed dry.”
Amazingly, Jen headed off to Lincoln just hours after her work for some early Christmas shopping.
She explained: “That was probably as exhausting as the walk.
“I definitely think the next time we go to Skegness, we’ll take the bus.
“We had great support. Everyone driving passed honked their horns and I can only thank people who have donated money. Brilliant.”
