Host Chernobyl children in Horncastle

The Chernobyl Children Lifeline is looking for volunteer families in Horncastle to host children who have been affected by the nuclear disaster in April.

The Lifeline was formed in 1991 to help relieve the suffering of the children.

The Lifeline raises funds to help bring the children to the UK for four weeks respite.

April 26, 2013 sees the 27th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the world’s worst nuclear accident.

After all these years the people of Belarus and the Ukraine still have major problems and suffer from the economic situation and poor health.

Volunteer Jeannette Fortnum said: “These four weeks help them so much and can help extend their lives by up to 2 years.

“We take them on outings, they are amazed at the sea - most of them have never seen it before.”

All children travel with an leader who speaks fluent English.
