A Horncastle nurse has been awarded the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse by the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).

A qualified District Nurse, Anne Duncan is employed as a Nurse Care Coordinator at Alford Surgery.

She attended a ceremony at London’s Russell Hotel to receive the honour.

The title QN indicates a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership.

Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities and a shared professional identity.

“Congratulations are due to Anne for her success,” said Crystal Oldman, chief executive of the QNI.

“Community Nurses operate in an ever more challenging world and our role is to support them as effectively as we can.

“The QN title is a keen part of this and we would encourage other Community Nurses to apply.”

Anne was one of 105 nurses from across the country
receiving their award.
